Anu
Hakola
Anu Hakola (b. 1995) is a visual artist and landscape architect who lives and works between Finland and Italy. Hakola works mainly with pointillistic paintings, characterized by sensitive perception and immersion in a particular place and space.
'In visual art, I emphasize the spaces of being, meaning and the connection of the inner mental landscape to the perceived and experienced external world. ‘
Hakola combines her background in landscape architecture with art, focusing on the emotions and feelings evoked by the landscape, its cultural history, and sketching outdoors, which are all an integral part of the painting process;
'' Here I am particularly fascinated by how our inner being is intertwined with the spirit as well as the essence of the environment, and how on the other hand these seem to be in complete contradiction. ''
