Mirja Väyrynen (b. 1985 in Vaasa) is a visual artist based in Helsinki. Driven by curiosity she studies the different possibilities of things and beings. Her works have many origins. Painting might have a starting point or a plan. Eventually the painting sets its own rules. Attention to the details and dialog between the artist and the material is important.

Mirja is currently finishing her painting studies at Free Art School. She is also completing her Bachelor degree in Fine Arts at Novia.
